For the period 2021-2027, the EU is funding its programs and financial instruments through two main budgets: the regular Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the special NextGenerationEU budget. The latter provides extraordinary support for recovery from the economic upheaval caused by COVID-19 across the 27 member states.

1. Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) --> ​€ 1,216 billion

• EU’s long-term budget to finance EU Programmes for 2021 - 2027

 2. NextGenerationEU --> ​€ 806.9 billion

• ​A​ temporary and additional  instrument to help member States to recovery faster from COVID-19
