Course description
This intensive course is offered in three versions, to offer knowledge and insights suited to your needs as much as possible.
Instead of long and hardly assimilable lessons, we offer a learning system that will open your mind and new horizons. This will help you to know the proposed subject and a method to assimilate it better.
We will teach you to consult the Platform we have created on EU Agriculture (plus Food) Policy, giving you free access for 3 months. In it you will be able to consult the constantly updated content of this Course and you will consult with a direct line the work of EU Agencies, their decisions and interact with the EU scientific networks.
Why is this course interesting for you?
The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is aimed at helping European farmers meet the need to feed 500 million Europeans. Its main objectives are to provide a stable, sustainable produced supply of safe food at affordable prices for consumers, while also ensuring a decent standard of living for 22 million farmers and agricultural workers.
The EU agriculture sector has roughly 11 million farms, which provide work for roughly 22 million agri-workers. But this figure doubles to 44 million if you include also the jobs created in the food processing, food retail and food services, making the EU agri-food sector the largest employment sector in the economy.
If your activity is dealing directly or indirectly with agriculture (public administration, production, trade, media, education, etc.), this course will allow you to get to know the role of the EU in supporting European agriculture, market trends, prices and any European measure.
During this Course you will learn also the new EU priorities on:
Production of cereals: climate change, war in Ukraine, tensions on energy markets are responsible of negative effects on production and EU propose some derogation from certain agricultural policy rules.
Latest short-term outlook for EU agricultural markets: the short-term outlook report presents the latest trends and prospects for different agri-food sectors, in order to counter possible negative effects.
Trade agreements: This period of great tension on agricultural markets highlights the importance of negotiations concluded or under discussion with other countries and, above all, knowledge of the contents and future prospects.
