The EU has two research and innovation support activities for the period 2021-2027:
Horizon Europe: Health Program - €8.24 billion. This program consists of research support activities.
EU4Health Program - €5.7 billion. This program is an EU response to COVID-19 and 3 other priorities.
Horizon Europe: Health Program
With €8.24 billion for 2021-2027, the goals include improving and protecting the health and well-being of citizens of all ages by improving knowledge to prevent, diagnose, monitor and treat disease.
This requires the development of advanced health technologies, the reduction of health risk factors and the promotion of good health in all circumstances.
Finally, this cluster also aims to help health systems become more efficient, affordable, equitable and sustainable, including to prevent and address poverty-related diseases.

The reduction in the number of antimicrobial resistant infections and the improvement of vaccination rates will also be enhanced. In addition, European initiatives for rare diseases will be expanded and international cooperation on global health threats and challenges will continue to be pursued. The goals are:

The EU programme is involving EU countries (for priorities and policy consistency and complementary), stakholders ( professionals and civil society) and EU Institutions. The implementation and funding opportunities of the EU4Health program are managed and published by the Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).
