Brussels, 19 December 2022 Yesterday evening, after 18 months of discussions, EU energy ministers reached an agreement on a price cap for the purchase of gas at €180 MWh. The regulation aims to limit episodes of excessive gas prices in the EU that do not reflect world market prices, while ensuring security of energy supply and the stability of financial markets.
