The Political Groups reach an agreement on the parliamentary standing committees and subcommittees to be issued, number, names, competencies, and number of seats. They also agree on the distribution of the seats amongst their Members.
The EP Plenary voted on the agreement on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.
The constitutive meetings of the European Parliament's standing committees and subcommittees took place in Brussels on 23 July 2024, following the appointments of their members in the plenary sitting last 16-19 July.
During the constitutive meetings, each committee and subcommittee elected its respective bureau, made up of a Chair and Vice-Chairs, for a two-and-a-half year mandate. The newly set up committees will then start holding their regular meetings during the same week following their constitutive meeting.

- Each coordinator is assigned to specific parliamentary committees. They coordinate the work of their group's members within these committees, ensuring that their group's viewpoints are effectively represented and advocated.
- They manage the distribution of committee responsibilities among their members and oversee the preparation of reports, amendments, and legislative proposals.
- Negotiation and Compromise:
- Coordinators often engage in negotiations with other political groups to reach compromises on legislative texts and parliamentary resolutions.
- They work to build alliances and consensus on key issues, striving to achieve outcomes that align with their group's policies while also facilitating the legislative process.
- Communication and Information Dissemination:
- Coordinators are responsible for keeping their group members informed about the latest developments in committee work and parliamentary proceedings.
- They facilitate communication between the group's members, the group's leadership, and other stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is updated and aligned.
- Representation and Advocacy:
