EU Public Consultations (Have Your Say)
When a EU legislative initiative is launched or a European strategy is in the pipeline, the European Commission wants to hear the views of the european society and launches consultations (Have your say procedure). This includes: public authorities, businesses, civil society organisations and the public. The European Commission publishes a preview of the project under study to obtain the opinion of the european society. Only after having collected and made public the contributions received in a certain time interval, the Commission will decide on the continuation of a legislative initiative and its roadmap. Why you should take part to EU Public Consultations? Taking part in a public consultation is very important, especially (but not only) for stakeholders, because they can take part in a public debate, be heard and can also have a concrete impact on the drafting of a strategy and legislative decisions. It must be considered that the European Commission, while making use of numerous groups of experts in the most varied sectors, is still an institution made up of Officials, who must know how to bring expectations and public interest together with the needs and skills of the stakeholders. To take part in the Public Consultations "Have your say" of the European Commission, eEuropa puts at your disposal its expertise and its long experience to translate your ideas into documents that will be delivered and evaluated by the managers of the Directorates-General and Departments of the European Commission. Your contribution will be published by the European Commission. The same documents will then be very useful if you want to start a direct information and awareness initiative among European legislators. |
