The EU established its rules within the Commission Regulation (EC) No 33/2019 on protection of designations of origin, geographical indications and traditional terms in the wine sector, the objection procedure, restrictions of use, amendments to product specifications, cancellation of protection, labelling and presentation.
EU producers have to send your requests to their national Authorities, as referred by the EU Regulation (EC) No 34/2019.

Examples of forms requested by the European Commission:
- Application to register a protected designation of origin or protected geographical indication (*)
- Single document (*)
- Opposition to a protected designation of origin or protected geographical indication
- Request to amend a protected designation of origin or protected geographical indication (*)
- Request to cancel a protected designation of origin or protected geographical indication
- Request to convert a protected designation of origin into a protected geographical indication (*)
ATTENTION: The methods and forms marked with an asterisk (*) are sent by the competent authorities of the Member States, exclusively through the E-Caudalie information system, accessible via the AWAI Portal, which is the entry point for all Web applications of the DG Agriculture and Rural Development.
