REACH is the EU Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals.
The aim is to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. Under REACH, there is not obligation to register substances in amounts below one tonne a year (production or import or trade). EU gives authorizations or impose restrictions.
REACH also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals. Read more (free access)....
