The Commission provides support for the current Cyprus settlement negotiations and implements
the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community.

2021-2027 Budget:  €240 million

The Programme

The Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community (TCc) aims to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus. It is based on Council Regulation (EC) No 389/2006 and delivers assistance under the following objectives:

  • Developing and restructuring of infrastructure
  • Promoting social and economic development
  • Fostering reconciliation, confidence building measures, and support to civil society
  • Bringing the TCc closer to the EU
  • Preparing the TCc to implement EU acquis upon settlement

The Aid Programme is of an exceptional, transitional and temporary nature. The Multiannual Financial Framework provides a multi-annual perspective to the Aid Programme with a provision for stable, annual funding.
