Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027)
The Digital Education Action Plan is a EU strategic framework to promote the integration of digital technologies and skills in education systems across the European Union. It aims to harness the potential of digital technologies to enhance learning, improve digital skills, and foster digital literacy among students and educators.
The plan outlines a set of goals and actions to be taken at both the EU and national levels to drive the digital transformation of education. These actions include promoting the use of digital tools and resources in teaching and learning, developing educators' digital competencies, and ensuring inclusive and equitable access to digital education for all learners.
The plan recognizes the importance of equipping learners with the digital skills they need to thrive in the digital age and to participate actively in society and the job market. It emphasizes the need to integrate digital skills across the curriculum, enhance digital creativity and entrepreneurship, and foster critical thinking and media literacy.
Furthermore, the Digital Education Action Plan highlights the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, including educational institutions, policymakers, industry, and civil society, to create a supportive ecosystem for digital education. It encourages the exchange of best practices, the development of digital education networks, and the provision of guidance and support to educators and educational institutions.
Overall, the Digital Education Action Plan aims to ensure that European citizens, regardless of their background or location, have the necessary digital competencies and skills to navigate the digital world effectively and contribute to a digitally inclusive and innovative society.
To this end, the Digital Education Action Plan stes out two strategic priorities and fourteen actions:
